Five reasons why this is the happiest place in the world
How happy is the happiest place on earth really? You certainly wouldn’t be the first to ask yourself this question. But I’m here to tell you it’s true, and especially for pop culture lovers.
The reason is simple: the good folks at Disneyland Resort in California know that people find joy in different things. Thrill seeker? They have you covered. Fantasy lover? Here is. Feeling nostalgic? Between.
And while they cater to a wide range of interests, they don’t just leave it to superficial attraction or a bit of merch, oh no. Disneyland is a series of tightly interconnected lands that seem made just for you. It is a truly unforgettable and irreplicable experience.
For good measure, here are a few more reasons why Disneyland is your happiest place on earth:
There’s nostalgia in spades
Disneyland is also arguably the most nostalgic place in the world for longtime lovers of the intertwined universe created by its films, series, and theater and resort experiences.
The life-size Sleeping Beauty Castle is hard to miss, given its location in the center of the park, but you wouldn’t want to. This spectacular centerpiece evokes such happiness that marriage proposals, birthday surprises and baby announcements regularly occur in its forecourt.
Nostalgia seekers will also love classic attractions like Space Mountain, It’s A Small World and Haunted Mansion.
It covers your spatial fantasies
There’s been a lot of talk about how Star Wars should be defined: space opera, science fiction, fantasy. Either way, you’ll find it on the sprawling 5.6-hectare lot known as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Turns out you don’t have to leave Earth to visit a galaxy far, far away. The sprawling land is made up of multiple incredible attractions that bring an outpost to life on the planet of Batuu. Here you can build your own lightsaber at Savi’s workshop; design, activate, and assemble a droid at the Droid Depot; or take a ride in the Millennium Falcon at the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
But the piece de resistance of Galaxy’s Edge is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The one-of-a-kind attraction sees recruits (that’s us) accepting a secret mission from the Resistance, which is squarely in the sights of the First Order.
It will fuel your sense of adventure
If you’ve ever wondered how you become an Avenger, now you know.
Disney California Adventure Park’s all-new Avengers Campus is a must-visit for any budding superhero, but don’t expect it to be a laid-back experience. Visitors are expected to help keep the Spider-Bots under control at Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure, learn the mystical arts of Dr. Strange at Ancient Sanctum, and help Rocket free his fellow Guardians at Guardians of the Galaxy. – Mission: BURST!
Again, that’s all in a day’s work for an Avenger.
It’s wildly romantic at night
One of the best things about Disneyland is that the magic doesn’t end when the sun goes down. In fact, there are even more incredibly romantic attractions to enjoy, including world-famous nighttime shows. They’re back on the charts after a hiatus, and they’re shaping up to be some of the best of all time.
There are four amazing after-dark events to look forward to, including the Main Street Electrical Parade, Disneyland Forever, and the Fantasmic Fireworks, an extravagant nighttime spectacle featuring Mickey Mouse himself at Disneyland Park, as well as World of Color at Disney California Adventure Park.
The iconic Main Street Electrical Parade celebrates its 50th anniversary this year with an enchanting new grand finale that brings together more than a dozen Disney and Pixar stories into one incredible spectacle. The new finale was imagined around the theme of unity.
If there’s one thing that will definitely make us happy after a few tough years, it’s a little unity.
It goes hard on comfort and convenience
At this point, I’d hazard to assume you’ve sent in a request for annual leave for a few months, dusted off your passport, and told the family to refresh their Shyriiwook or droidspeak.
But I’ve saved some of the best news for last: you can fully immerse yourself in the Disney experience when you stop and refuel at Downtown Disney. There’s a shopping, dining, sightseeing or nightlife experience for every type of visitor, and you’ll find one-of-a-kind keepsakes, keepsakes and gifts that will inspire for years to come. Unique shops, world-class cuisine and unparalleled nightlife? No wonder everyone who visits Disneyland can’t wait to get back.
