‘Futuristic Goa’: Arvind Kejriwal’s mixed bag of 13 guarantees has a pie for all
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) pledged 13 guarantees to Goa residents on Sunday, with plenty in store for jobs, mining, education, trade and the health sector.
Addressing a press conference, AAP National Organizer and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that if elected to power, his party would provide jobs for everyone. “Those who cannot find employment will receive ₹3,000 as unemployment benefit,” he said.

Regarding the mining sector in the coastal state, Kejriwal said there are a lot of vested interests. “There is no way that mining cannot resume. They (the current regime) don’t want him to take it back. Our intention is clean. We will resume mining within six months of government formation in Goa. This is our second guarantee.
Mining activities have remained suspended in Goa since 2018. In December last year, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) authorized a new policy of exporting iron ore dumps with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant saying the decision will help restart mining.
As a third guarantee, Kejriwal said that within six months of taking office, the AAP government will provide land rights to those who have not received the same for decades.
The AAP organizer said the fourth guarantee is about repairing the education system in Goa so that children can enjoy quality education free of charge.
“Similar to New Delhi, we will open Mohalla clinics in every neighborhood and village in Goa. I am giving you a health guarantee that everyone will have good facilities for free,” Kejriwal said as the next pledge.
The sixth guarantee of the AAP is that of a corrupt free government in the tourist state.
As a seventh guarantee, Kejriwal said that all women in Goa over the age of 18 will receive a monthly allowance of ₹1,000.
“We will discuss all issues related to agriculture with the farmers and this is our eighth guarantee,” added Kerijwial.
As a next promise, he said that the AAP would stop ‘trade raj’ and ‘inspector raj’ and the whole trade sector would be streamlined.
“We are going to boost the tourism sector in Goa so that people get jobs,” the Delhi CM added.

AAP’s 11th guarantee is a reiteration of its previous promise to provide people with free, 24/7 electricity.
Mocking the water for all promise of the current government in Goa, Kejriwal said his party would keep its word on free water supply for all all year round.
“Our 13th guarantee is that we will repair the roads across the state,” Kejriwal said, adding that the AAP wants to make Goa futuristic, while preserving its past.
Having lost its hard-fought space in recent years, the AAP is back in business with an aggressive campaign, led by Kejriwal.
Elections in the Assembly’s 40 constituencies will be held in a single phase on February 14. The counting of the votes and the proclamation of the results will take place on March 10.
