Johnna Adams’ World Builders New England Premiere at Stonington Opera House – MAINE ART SCENE MAGAZINE
(Stonington, ME) Opera arts is pleased to present the New England premiere of the play world builders by Johnna Adams and conducted by Artistic Director Cait Robinson at Stonington Opera House.
Featuring Brandon’s Fox and Nicole OrabonaWorld Builders is a dark comedy about two people who fall in love while trying psychiatric drugs.
Both Whitney and Max have personality disorders that cause them to retreat into fantasy worlds until a new treatment offers them a chance to dramatically change their lives. As the pills kick in and the fantasies fade, Max and Whitney must weigh the costs of entering the “real” world against leaving their own.
There will be two preview nights as well as an opening night. The following performances then take place over two weeks, from August 17 to August 28.

Opera House Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1999 to restore the 1912 Stonington Opera House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, to its original role as a performance hall and community gathering space. We offer a year-round professional program of theatre, music, film, dance, educational programs, community events, and more. Performances take place at several venues, including the Stonington Opera House, the restored Burnt Cove Church Community Center, and specific venues in Deer Isle and Stonington, Maine. Opera House Arts programs are open to all winter and summer residents and visitors to Hancock County, with a particular focus on residents of Deer Isle and the Blue Hill Peninsula.
