Last month Doja said she didn’t enjoy her career as much as she thought and that it had been “maybe five years” since she had had fun making music.
The rapper – who was recently nominated for eight Grammys ahead of next year’s ceremony – took to Instagram Live (via The neighborhood conversation) to share his disappointment at how the music industry made him feel.
âI just mean, make music, willy-nilly, have fun and just jam and do shit. I haven’t done that in maybe five years, it’s like that,â he said. she explained. “I do all this shit that I don’t want to do. I don’t wanna take fucking pictures. Like, yes planning a photoshoot is a lot of fun. Capturing a concept, capturing a visual idea, like something like that⦠I love fashion. I really do. “
“Do I wanna do this shit because I have to?” No! No, I don’t! But I feel like I have to do shit like this. I don’t want to do this. I want to be home. I wanna fucking play – I wanna make music. I wanna play fucking video games.
Elsewhere, Doja Cat said in a recent interview that she will start to be more selective with who she works with in the future.
“I tried to be more careful with who I collaborate with,” she said in a conversation with ExtraTV.
âThat doesn’t mean the people on my album are – they’re amazing. These are the perfect elements of my album, âshe added. âBut I want to be more demanding on what I do because I feel like a lot of features are going to come out. I feel like people tune into each other’s songs for the sake of having them on each other’s songs.
